To encourage students and post-doctoral fellows to participate in the symposium, the Foundation is offering travel awards of up to $1200 USD per individual. These awards are to be used for expenses associated with conference attendance, including registration, air (coach class airfare), ground transportation and lodging costs (Marriott Union Square at Foundation room block rate). Receipts will be required for reimbursement. In addition, Rainin Foundation is pleased to offer a discounted registration fee of $50 to all students and post-doctoral fellows.
The travel awards will be selected based on the quality of science demonstrated in the abstract. Only one application per abstract is accepted. A maximum of one award per lab will be allocated. To be eligible for a travel award, you must be a graduate student or post-doctoral fellow currently enrolled in an academic program. Winners will be notified in early May.
If you meet the eligibility requirements and would like to apply for a travel grant, you must register for the meeting first and then send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with the following information by Friday, April 4, 2014:
- Your contact information
- A copy of your abstract (please refer to abstract guidelines)
- A letter from your mentor to verify your status as a student or post-doc fellow
